About Us
Potthoff Appraisals is a full-service real estate appraisal organization with over 40 years of experience. We are a family business where we pride ourselves on integrity, competence, and professionalism. We are located in Carroll, Iowa and hope to serve your appraisal needs.
Potthoff Appraisals was originally started by Scott Potthoff in 1986. In 2004, Scott’s brother Jeff began appraising as well in Waukee. In order to meet increasing demand and with our desire to meet the client's timely appraisal needs, Scott’s daughter, Piper Potthoff, joined the family business in 2013.
Scott and Piper are both Certified General Appraisers specializing in Iowa farm appraisals. They work together to ensure a high level of knowledge and expertise is put into each appraisal.
They meet or exceed the mandatory continuing education required for all appraisers including USPAP regulations. The appraisal industry has state and federal oversight, and comply with banking regulations as well.
Clients include lending institutions, government agencies, law firms, estates, and individuals.
